Belgrade Open as a form of preparation for Roland Garros

World’s best tennis player Novak Đoković will start off Roland Garros in great spirits considering he won Belgrade Open in his home town.

“Playing in front of the local audience and winning the tournament is a great feeling, and it gives me a boost of confidence before the tournament in Paris. I am very pleased with my game, I felt good on the court, and I hit the ball just right. I am ready. Paris is one of the biggest goals of the season, and I want to kick it off in the best way possible. Playing in front of an audience and having that kind of energy is exactly what I wanted, and winning the trophy is the best form of preparation for Paris,” said the number one tennis player in the world.

This was the first time he played a tournament a week before Roland Garros.

“Ever since the tournament in Rome, I hit the ball much better, made better use of the court and moved around. Tournaments in Rome and Belgrade are important for preparation and are a good confidence booster before Roland Garros. I played in the final in Rome, and in Belgrade I won the tournament, so I am very motivated and I feel ready,” said Đoković.
