Međedović: Tournaments like this one mean a lot to us
Young Serbian tennis player Hamad Međedović did not make it to the next round of Belgrade Open.
He was bested by Alex Molcan from Slovakia with 2-0, with 6:4, 6:3 in sets.
“I am not satisfied with how I played. There were mistakes on all sides, forehands and backhands, I didn’t do well. I didn’t feel pressure because it was believed that I could get to my first ATP victory, I have no reason to feel pressure. I am young and have nothing to lose,” the 17-year old tennis player said, analysing his game after the match.
For Hamad and young tennis players like him, tournaments organized in Serbia are very important.
“Participating in tournaments like this one means a lot to me, and I am grateful that I received the wild card. My ranking is not good enough to be able to participate in these tournaments, and this is my third in Belgrade already, after the challengers and Serbia Open from April,” said Međedović.
His plans for the coming period include the junior Roland-Garros, and he says that he will do his best to accomplish the best possible result.
