Roland Garros preparations are going well
The Roland Garros main draw has been announced, and it’s interesting that both Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are in the same half as Novak.
“Preparations for Roland Garros are going well. I feel that I’m playing close to the level I want to be at. I think this is the first time Roger, Rafa and I are in the same half of the draw. It will be very interesting, only one of us can reach the final, and I will do my best for it to be me. It’s a long road, there are 128 players and everyone is motivated to do well in a Grand Slam. You have to take it one step at a time. I have experience, like Roger and Nadal, we’ve been on the tour for a long time, we know how to play in these situations. If it happens that Federer and I meet, it will be exciting and it will be a great challenge, but there’s a long way before that match could happen”, said Novak, proceeding to give us his view on the potential situation if he gets scheduled to play in the evening slot in Paris.
“Last year, we played in late October, conditions were very harsh, we had rain, the ball bounced lower. It was different than when we normally play, in late May. Evening matches will probably resemble those conditions, if the weather is a bit chilly. I have nothing against evening matches, it will be interesting. I don’t want to make any demands, I hope I will be able to play on Tuesday, to get an extra day to rest and train and have a good start”.
